My interest in programming began in high school when I began playing computer games. I noticed that all of these games had some form of mod you can download and add to your game. This adds a new, custom dynamic to your game. I began making my own mods in early high school by writing code in JavaScript, using existing mod files as a template for my projects. From there I quickly became obsessed with programming, continuing to grow my skills within Java, JavaScript and, more recently, Python.

I learned Python more recently. I had practiced a little bit of Python coding in high school, but never truly set my mind to it. Recently I challenged myself to take coding seriously and learn all that I can. I began this journey with Python because I had heard how powerful of a language it is. Now that I have received my certification, I am amazed at the possibilities Python provides. I truly enjoyed this course and had a lot of fun reaching for my certificate.

JavaScript was the language that originally captivated my interest. In early high school, I was addicted to a game called Garry's Mod. In this game, community members can create and upload their own content. This ranged widely from custom maps to entire game modes. All these files could be downloaded by any player and rated based on their experience. I began using existing mods as a template and editing mods I liked to make them better. In this process I unknowingly began teaching myself JavaScript and soon began to create my own mods from scratch.
